A Sumatran tiger (Panthera tigris sumatrae) named Maneki looks longingly at a floating toy in a pool at the Australia Zoo.
When I was visiting the Australia Zoo a tiger presentation was held every day much like that in the Crocoseum. Hosts would enter the enclosure with the tigers, which were hand-raised to feel comfortable around people and encouraged to perform fun activities to demonstrate their power and natural abilities. It is all part of the Australia Zoo's enrichment program that encourage the animals to be active and happy.
The tigers were also given toys to play with if the mood struck them. Trainers would run with the tigers, encouraging them to chase certain toys before throwing the objects in a pool in an attempt to get the big cats to leap spectacularly into the water. However, this gorgeous girl didn't really feel up to it and stayed by the waters edge watching toys float just out of reach. All the better for her siblings though who claimed the toys for their own.

"...Best point of entry... to grab this toy.." Is what it looks like it's thinking. ^^ Im pretty sure he or she jumped in later to grab it since tigers love the water. Again, another really sweet shot, it's crouched and observing, I never get tired of looking at your tiger pics :3.
