A cheeky local bird in Noosa, Australia figures out how to access a local restaurant's table sugar by using its beak to lift the mini trap-door. The poor waitresses were trying to scare this little guy away, but he simply kept coming back for more.

on a trip to Kangaroo island we met a maggie that would steal the sugar packets and hold it in his claws while using his beak to give a neat tear straight down the middle.

That's awesome XD.
Is it a yellow faced honey eater? It looks a lot like blue faced honey eaters that I've seen in a couple of zoos, just that this one has a yellow face.

Not sure what kind of bird it is...it doesn't seem to be too close to the results for honey eaters. I need to brush up on my ornithology! =/

Thanks!

I think I've seen a few other pictures of these birds and it looks like the juvenile blue-faced honey eaters have yellow faces and it changes to blue as they get older.
They're pretty neat birds. Hoping to see one out in the wild sometime. (Will requite traveling!)

Aww, what a clever fellow! Hmm, that sugar looks brown :O_o: Is brown sugar more common in Australia?
