Hey there,

I've been looking for a particular music type for a long time now, but I haven't had any luck. I'm wondering if you folks could offer some help.

I'm looking for music such as the type heard at this [link] . Basically it is a guitar...desert...calming sort of music. I'm not sure if there is even a name for it. "Classical guitar" hasn't really done me any good and neither has "relaxing guitar music".

Does anyone out there know of any particular songs, artists or genre name that I might be interested in?

...

More photos are coming, including more grumpy tigers (though they're not grumpy at me this time.

Cheers!

-Kuba

Sound like some kind of ambient variation including guitar. Yet George Fenton is rather known for his film scores, so I s';pose its not really an own style but rather part of a motion picture soundtrack.

Are you sure what side of the glass you are on?
Have you tried "Spanish guitar?"
Sounds a bit like that to me...
Lately I've been listening to Kokia, she's Japanese but she sings in like, Italian or reverse languages. Her latest song il mare dei suoni is really calming and stuff.

Ya might wanna try Dead can dance. Maybe not exactly like the desert with a guitar, but it is just as calming. ^^,

And then there's always Enigma, Enya, Era and other similair New Age-groups. Listen and see if you like 'em. :)

oh, that clip actually sounded rather familiar. You might want to check out post-rock... some of those bands kind of sound like that, I like to listen to them while studying. It's not necessarily a desert feel but a similar instrumental sound.
have you tried facebook's music collection via iLike?

Sorry, can't help ya there, mate... my tastes in guitar are usually decidedly not calming. For example, California Guitar Trio's more aggressive stuff like: [link]
And then there's just flat out metal.

That score is actually off the Planet Earth series... I have the soundtrack, drop me a line and I can send it to you via MSN or something if you want. A lot of it is very ambient music, but not exactly classical. It's pretty nice to listen to, rather unique. No guitar in all of them though, just certain tracks.
I know where it is from...I own the soundtrack. I'm just looking for other types like what is heard at that link.
