WWF

Thu Jun 22, 2006, 8:01 PM
Well, it seems I am moving up in the world...

I started volunteering with WWF-Canada a while back and it has been nothing short of awesome. Everyone is very friendly there and although the work is redundant sometimes and the commute is 2 hours one way it is an elixer for the soul. Knowing that I am helping out in some way makes me feel wonderful.

What kinda work do you do there? How long do you spend there at a time? It's great to hear that you're in a place that suits your interests in a big way and not only that, that you can help too. Two hours, wow, but when it comes to important things, these are simple sacrificies.
They have me down for 10-2, which is silly. They need help and I am more than willing to work longer. I generally stay until 5:30 (closing time) if they let me. They treat their volunteers like gold, which is nice, but I would help them just the same if they didn't.

Oh man, 10-2, interesting hours...great to hear you can help em out. I'm still wondering what is it you do there all that time? Move papers around, phone calls or what?
I have basically been people's "helper" for the first three visits. I have helped send out t-shirts, tax receipts, put together adoption packages and sent out newsletters. They always need help so I have been pretty busy no matter what I am doing.

I was asked during my last visit to help out with some data entry. They have given me my own computer in the office with my own files to work with which is nice. It makes me humbled to know that they trust me.
