There is something that strike me more powerfully with tigers than other big cats, but I'm not sure I could put it into words. It started with a mild interest in all big cats, but the more I learned about tigers, the more enamored I became. It may just come down to some unspeakable connection, as in many other matters of love.
I'm a big fan of all cats, but snow leopards are right up there. They are some of the most incredible animals, surviving in places that don't seem to be suited for life. Combine that with a haunting pale-eyed stare and you have an animal that is understandably mysterious and divine.
I really know what you mean. I feel the same way about Cheetahs, despite having a love for all the big cats. There's just something about them that amazes me.
They really are amazing creatures, and we know so little about them. I was amazed when I first saw one.
Thanks for answering
I don't know if you have the answer to this, but I've made a few researches and haven't found anything.. What happen if we cross breed two different families of big cats ? I've found a lot of informations about crossbreeding inside the panthera genus (ligers and everything), but can neofelis and uncia cross with panthera? For exemple, did someone ever tried to breed a snow leopard with a " normal " leopard ? I can't really find informations about that, but someone should have tried this someday, knowing the human kind, no ? o_o
Anyway, I'm just being curious, I quite love genetics ( even though cross breeding is a sad thing ) and I've been wondering that for a while (:
I don't believe some of the smaller cats would be able to the Panthera genus, but perhaps a snow leopard could. It was in its own genus, but has since been relegated to Panthera so perhaps it could mate with its counterparts. I haven't heard of such a thing occurring though.
Thanks for the question and kudos for doing the research!
Yeah, I see ! So actually it's more a question size of than genus :3
It's weird we aren't aware of mixing snow leopards with leopards or other big cats though.. I thought, with all the weird cross breeding people can realize, they would have done that if it was possible..
Well thanks for answering :3
I feel quite connected to the tiger for reasons I cannot explain. It just seems familiar to me, like breathing.
I have another question.
Where have you traveled on your quest and where do you hope to go next?
I'm hoping to go back to Thailand sometime soon to do some work.
